“Your optimal experiences are going to occur when you are most united with yourself” – Jordan Peterson

Greetings and Blessings to you all.

We are 17 days into a new year and a new decade. There is quite a bit of interesting events occurring on the global stage, so I thought it prudent to take some time to bring the focus into a smaller scale; The Self.

I would imagine that many of you who take the time to read my blog are interested in being [or becoming] a conscious agent of change in the world, which is no small feat, due mainly to the fact that the primary battlefield where this is done is the frontier of our selfhood.

I am a firm believer that the exterior world which we have experiences mirror the quality of our interior worlds; the mental and emotional landscape in which we are constantly engaged and creating from. If we are experiencing difficulties in our lives outwardly, it would be wise to bring some attention to the interior dimensions of our being [selfhood].

The last year of my life has been a rollercoaster of events. From becoming separated to living in a completely new place; being seperated from my children for an extended period of time, and having run-ins with romance, there has been no shortage of opportunities to reflect on the quality of my interior domain.

And it has been a challenge.

Due to these challenges, I have failed to keep up with my writing. Whether its a dark night of the soul or just a lack of interest in sharing my thoughts publically, I have not been motivated or inspired to sit and write about life. Today is different.

Today I can reflect on my current situation and smile. I can see how all of the difficult experiences I have been going through have led me to where I am. Of course my faith in this being how the Universe is designed [continually guiding us to out next highest good], I am always amazed on how much better it turns out then I could have previously imagined.

The opening quote came into my experience via an interview with Jordan Peterson in which he takes a moment to talk about the mystical and religious underpinnings to personal development. The quote itself is what nudged me to write, because it struck something inside of my mind that I had not considered in some time. It raised a few questions that I think everyone should consider so as to better grasp the aim of their intentions and endeavors.

  • What is my Self?
  • What does my most United Self look like/mean?
  • What do I consider to be optimal experiences?

Rather then provide answers to these questions, I invite you to consider them yourself, which I shall also do and then provide a follow up post as to my own insights. [Mainly to create an intention to write again.. 😉 ]
